Basic SWAT

This course is designed as a fundamental training program for LE officers who are assigned to SWAT, Narcotic Enforcement Units, Warrants Teams, and Patrol Officers who wish to improve their tactical skills. and introduces basic tactical principles/philosophy. This class emphasizes the physical mechanics of movement along with tactical decision-making skills. The student will take part in dynamic hands-on training in an environment that will require the officer to operate as an integral member of a team. Topics include: Types of Doors, Threshold evaluations, Basic Room Clearing, 2 and 3 officer room entries, Center Fed & corner fed Rooms, Methodical vs Dynamic clears, Stairwells, Team Movement, Contact Cover, Hallway movement, Conduct of High Risk Search Warrants and Barricaded susps, Introduction to Vehicle & Bus Assaults, firearms (handgun and rifle), Shield work, Basic TEMS, Use of Armor and Scenarios.
